GM Alan Nelson made some bold statements earlier today at a press confrence, here are Nelson's comments when asked where the team will be gonig in the new season.
" Well, i'm gonig to be quite honest with you. Rebuilding. ( pause ) rebuilding, is the way im taking this team. I'm keeping 1 or 2 vets, that's all. I wouldnt be surprised if I gut every position, if not completly, half the positions will be refilled with youthful bodies. Im looking at getting a young defence core, rebuilt to my satisfactory standards. I'll keep 2 guy's i think will serve well in the back end. As you saw yesterday, i brought in Timo, who is one of the best Offensive D-men in the leauge right now. He will anchor our power play, and help our yonugsters out. Matt Niskanen will also be staying here in Dallas. He's such a poised young man, lot's of poetenial, he keeps out of pentaly trouble, smart with the puck, hes basically got it all.
Reporter: " Mr. Nelson, what will you be donig with players in the forward position, such as Modano,Morrow and such ? "
Nelson: " Well, Modano, is staying. He is such a great leader, on the ice & off. Our young bodies that will come in, will beneifit very, very well from Mr. America. Morrow, is such a powerfull person on the ice. So we will be looking to keep him.
" Now, i must be leaving now, i have a plane to catch for a league meeting. thanks to all , hope to see you all soon again."
Nelson's word's were keen on keeping the people he thought would help bring this team to the winner's circle.
