SDHL Top Story:
The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Tuesday, February 17th that they have fired head coach Michel Therrian. Before the Penguins called a team meeting with Therrian, they had offered Coach Peter Laviolette (currently un-employed within the SDHL) a salary of $1.4M/1 year. As of this afternoon, they are still awaiting Coach Laviolette's decision. When GM Stuart was asked to comment on the situation, he stated: "I didn't part like the way, the direction the team was headed. I've watched for a number of weeks and, at the end of the day, the direction is not that I wanted to have here. I wasn't comfortable, and that's why the change was made." Once Laviolette accpets the offer from the Penguins, it must be approved by the SDHL. After that, we will see how the Penguins fair for the rest of the season.
(OOC: Like how I stole that from the real article about Therrien getting fired? I thought it would be funny. Laugh.)
