The deal is as follows:

To Jackets: Sundin, Zanon
To Jets:Jorden Hendry, Matt Calvert, Brent Regner, Teddy Ruth, Tom Sestito

Hendry was added into the deal as a salary dump for the Jackets as they had no other way of accomodating the salaries heading back.

Hainsey was added into the deal as a cap drop? Uhm... that's kind of odd seeing as he's a solid defender with loads of potential and Sundin is basically retired.

Sundin was the cap drop and renta player for a season or 2 ....and Zanon is a good defensemen that balances out my defense a little better. The prospects are mid-low prospects for Sundin....this move was made because the FA market was priced to high for my liking and I got a player for year or two that can help as much or more than anyone in FA. Plus Zanon is a defensive upgrade (and cheaper) over Hainsey

also, i must say i think this is a pretty slick move by cbj unless one or more of the prospects turn out to be top 6 guys. considering the contracts, zanon for hainsey was a fantastic swap for the jackets. hainsey is probably the better D in real life, but he's a little bit mediocre for his contract, and while the same may be said for zanon, his contract is up after this year. and, frankly, i think dev is just upset because he didnt get to zanon first.
