Well, the deadline is just around the corner, and while I am mired in a mountain of school work, I am going to mention a few things for you buyers/sellers to be aware of.
Firstly, I have every intention of sending this team into the playoffs. So I do not want to be giving up guys for draft picks and prospects. If it's part of a bigger deal, I'll happily take guys for the future, but I'd rather get guys capable of helping me out now.
Secondly, I am not looking for 38-year-old veterans unless they come quite cheaply. I am looking more for under-30 players.
Here are some guys on the block:
Jordan Eberle - Young, 34G, 34A in 33GP in the WHL. Need I say more? (guy for the future)
Mason Raymond - Young, on pace for a 29G, 29A season in the NHL. Good for a rebuilding team (only 66 OV this season, but FAR better after the re-rate).
Milan Hejduk - On pace for an even better season than last year. 76 OV with 78 SC, 78 PA, and 78 DF. 2 more yrs at $4M.
Matthew Lombardi - On pace for career season. 72 OV, good all-around ratings, $1.8M for 2 yrs.
Brad Richards - I'd rather keep him because he will re-rate extremely well, but would consider trading him. 75 OV with 82 PA and 75 SC.
Sergei Zubov - I'm a little cautious in putting this guy on the block. If you want him, feel free to make an offer on him. I'll take a downgrade obviously, but he's around for another two SDHL seasons (one more after this) and he has very good ratings (75 OV), so I don't want, for instance, a 4th-round pick.
Marty Turco - A little cautious with him too. He's having a very good NHL season, and he's a huge part of my SDHL team. If I'm trading him, I want a goalie with similar ratings, and preferably younger (could be part of a bigger deal).
