you were into cogs really and the avs thing came out of nowhere. I pretty much was into the avs deal a bit before starting the cogs deal with you, pretty much doing two deals at the same time. I have a lot of centres so Dande will help out on the wing plus some prospects who'll help I hope down the line. I didn't think you'd trade your goalie cedric desjardins so I went for the vet and prospects

True true, the funny part of it all is I was in talks with Colorado, and I tried to grab a young center so I could move Koivu easier to him

Cogliano would have got you a lot more on the open market. Dandeneault isn't even remotely near worth Cogliano's value and the two prospects are low on the Hab's prospect pool. Especially with Weber and McDonagh sitting there.

Also, one of those prospects is 22 years old which I believe means any other GM can have him created and put on their team for free.

I am loosely challenging this trade until the other GM's look it over and form their own opinions on it.

agree with the 2 above posts. Dandeneault won't get another NHL contract so he's likely retiring. Fisher is lost in the shuffle and likely is a bust. I'm in Montreal and we really have no plans for him. Subban, Carle, Weber and Emelin(if he comes) are all above him. He really didnt develop as expected...

Cogliano is young and in the NHL and will likely get better. IMO you're receiving nothing that has any real value for him.

About the post above, sorry I don't know all the rules, if it gets turned down so be it and if it goes through so be it. Either way I'm alright with whatever decision.

Montreal accepts and is sad to see Latendresse leave but is happy to bring in a New cman who will be our 2nd line center in a couple of years

The trade is officially challenged, and I honestly don't think it's close enough to fair to be passed at this time. Feel free to rework it with Montreal but I would expect to see a couple of better prospect names in the mix if a deal is to go through, if something can't be worked with Montreal then at least you know the value of your player and that teams are willing to pay for him.

Not challenging the new deal yet, but Phillipe Paquet is a 22 year old prospect who can be claimed for free by any team... at least I believe that rule is still in effect. He's a 7th round pick who is a nothing. Take him out and replace him with a pick, otherwise people will start pulling their hair out around here, lol. Otherwise I can bet you maybe looking at another challenge from another team.

this deal is also terrible, cogliano is a good young player and latendresse is a career third liner at best

Challange issued for the new re-worked deal. It is just as bad as the first one.

Just to inform people

a team as been in discussion with me about Cogs and will also take penner off my hands and send me some useful wingers. I will work with montreal as much as I can but if the cogs deal is nixed, to get cogs you'll also have to take penner and send me useful players. Just to put it out their so I don't get flooded with offers if this deal falls through.
