All the Cogliano trades have been lopsided. Honestly, you can get much better value for him than the return you pulled.

But at this point I give up. Let the trade pass.

I think we have been getting a little challenge happy lately. I know it's frustrating to watch a team send out a good player and get the bare minimum, knowing full well that the player who was just traded for peanuts is going to be flipped in three months for a great return. But unless the trade is ridiculous, let it slide.

On that note, new GMs... PLEASE SHOP YOUR PLAYERS! Get a good idea of their value, ask around the league. Feel free to PM any of the veteren GMs and get some opinions. Get maximum value for your trades.

I would like to add, to Paj...

I know it's very frustrating to see deal after deal challenged. Nothing's more annoying than working out a deal only to see it trashed by the other GMs. No one is picking on you here, but we would like to help out and get you maximum value. I know you like your deal and you are happy with it, and that's good. We are all just trying to help.

Ok,

The only deals people have problems with are the two with Cogliano. All my other deals no complaints. Look, I knew this would happen and quite frankly people will post complaints no matter who I received. I did have the opportunity to aquire a big ticket player. I have a lot of centres and I can replace forwards very easy. People may not like the young players I received but it will restock my farm system. To gm of the Wild, I apologize for posting you had ulterior motives, I didn't like the $20 for 7 loonie comment. If you can get a lot of assets for one player, that's pretty good. Aquiring assets means I have more freedom to make moves. Anyways, I don't make trades to win popularity contests, and my team is not hurt by the deal. In this league rosters change fast and often.

You shouldn't be giving players based on having too many centers. Especially Cogs who can be switched over to the wing. IF it's the position depth you're concerned about, simply email the commish with a link to TSN.ca that shows Cogs at winger then your problem is solved.

Garth,

Thanks for the advice. Nice to know. The longer I'm in the league the more thick skinned I'll get. My track record isn't bad when it comes to dealing. Aside from the vetoed one and this one I've had no complaints on the other deals. In the future, when it comes to some deals I'll talk to a couple of gm's with who I've dealt with before to get their opinion. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way.

GM wants it that bad, all deals have revolved around EDM and MON... let it go through. EDM can watch from a far as Cogs becomes a top 6 while all his prospects go down the drain. He wants to move him, doesn't want to switch him to the wing. Fine, let him.

No skin off of my nose.

Let it pass.

I agree if he wants those pieces that bad...let him do what he wants. As for D. Fischer I am a die hard U of M hockey fan and the guy is average in the WCHA and said himself explaining his lackluster play "I wasn't the one who picked me in the first round" if I was a GM I would not like the sound of that at all.

Whatever happens happens. Either way it's all good. Doesn't bother me. A good workout and a good day at the poker table will always improve your mood. If I made a bad deal so be it, I'll live with it. This deal won't hurt my team now or anytime down the line. I'm sure Cogliano will be available again somewhere down the line. They always are.
